The Civic Movement Anti-Internet Piracy (MAPiNET), presented this week, it delivered Wednesday to Prime Minister, the chairman of the Assembly of the Republic and the parliamentary groups a manifesto calling on the government to take a position in the fight against piracy .

"The cultural industries felt that it was time to create a civil movement that could find solutions to this scourge", told the Lusa Paulo Santos, one of the representatives of MAPiNET.

Representatives from various industries were joined in front of the Assembly of the Republic to show its displeasure with the problem of illegal discharges on the Internet, without respecting the copyright, and strengthen the position recorded in the manifest given to the groups.

"Losses in the house of six million euros'

"We are talking about 50 million illegal discharges per year, we are talking about losses in the home of the six million for the cultural industries, only in Portugal, Paulo Santos further explained, adding that it affects businesses in the area of audiovisual of various sizes, jeopardizing jobs and families.

The representatives of this movement believe that there are solutions "resourceful and dynamic" to this problem, said Paulo Santos, who did not pass the "total and absolute criminalization of illegal downloads, because the Internet should co-exist" with other forms of distribution .

"We were efficient solutions, as the case of Olivennes, the French president's proposal on this matter. Only the discussion and adoption of the law in the first chamber have reduced by about 30 to 35 percent, 'said Paulo Santos, who argues that users should be aware of the illegalities that are being committed and only the percentage of final' downloaders "should be subject to a fine.

"The Internet can be used to a new dynamic market, but it is necessary that the new forms of marketing are regulated and are not used by default, 'said Anthony Carrasco, a participant in the concentration of MAPiNET and owner of a video clubs.

According to the manifest, the solutions are not only the accountability of Internet access providers (ISPs), who are also guilty for this situation to allow the sharing of files, but also by new rules this scenario, bound by the changes to the Code of Criminal Procedure, which makes any kind of legal action on the offenders.
