Files of Life magazine on Google

Google is available online since Tuesday, 20% of 10 million photographs that constitute the archives of the defunct Life magazine. 97% of these images, which will be placed online in the coming months, were never published.

This collection presents images dated from 1750 to date, printed by sounding names of photojournalism as
Alfred W. Eisenstaed or Eugene Smith.

The file of Life presents iconic images of the twentieth century and the register of historic events like the Vietnam War or the death of JFK.

Each image appears with technical information, the name of the photographer and the opportunity to vote in photography.
