While the Magellan project is relatively new, the JP Sá Couto is already working on developing the next model. The agreement announced today aims to develop a new laptop, best suited to the needs of Portuguese students. Contrary to what happens with the current Magellan, which was developed by Intel (draft Classmates 2), the next version of the laptop will be designed jointly by the three entities signed the agreement. The CEIIA, Portuguese wireless profit association, will assume an important role in development, supporting not only in design but also in the industrialization of the new Magellan.
